Well, here we are again at another Christmas. Sometimes this is a good time to look back and think through how things have changed.
When we look for change from day to day, we often can’t see those more subtle changes. But comparing things year by year gives us a different perspective…some good, some difficult.
Those of you who have experienced a large measure of integration will be able to see changes like these:
- More difficulty in handling my own emotional responses to things
- Suicide feelings that grow further and further apart in time
- A change in my relationship with the Lord (either feeling closer, or seemingly further away)
- A kind of emotional tiredness as I have to respond to things and can’t give that job to someone else inside
- Newly defined relationships with some of my DID friends who are at the beginning of their healing process
One thing is for sure: You need to be ready for change after integration!I
