Trophies of His Grace

Did You Know?

Did you know that we’re safe now?
Did you know that no one hurts us anymore?
Come out, come into the Light.
Take the first step toward the door.
You don’t have to be afraid,
Or hide out anymore.
You can tell your story.
You can be safe.
You will not be punished.
I will believe you.
I will comfort you.
I will lead you to healing.
You can know peace.
You can know comfort.
You can know safety.
You don’t have to be afraid.
They can’t touch us now.
They can’t.
The angels watch over us.
The battle was won.
Come out and let me show you.
I have a beautiful story to tell you.
Come, gather.
Listen carefully.
(And Lord, soften their hearts
That they might see
The place You have prepared for them
And what You’ve done for me.)
God loved us and sent His Son
To die for you and me.
He died to pay the price for sin
Of which we’re all guilty,
So we could live in heaven with Him for all eternity.
He doesn’t hurt, He doesn’t scare.
He comforts and he heals.
It’s more than our life ever knew—
The love that He reveals.
His love does not have strings attached
And doesn’t ever end.
We don’t deserve it,
We can’t pay for it,
He doesn’t even want us to!
Can we understand something
Our experience never held?
We paid the price dearly
For every smidge of good and love.
Was that good?
Was that love?
No.
So we simply paid the price
To exist.
Jesus saves.
Yes, He saved us, even then.
We’re still here, aren’t we?
And saves us?
They lied.
They were the liars.
They hated us and called it love.
They hurt us and said we liked it.
They shed blood and mocked Christ.
We believed them, but it’s okay.
We didn’t have a choice
We do now.
Jesus Christ is my Savior and Lord.
I hear His gentle voice.
You saw me then
And knew me before.
I softly said yes
And opened the door.
The door was of concrete and steel
And locked tight.
It hid secrets,
And anger,
And pain,
And bitterness,
And rage,
And sin,
Safely out of sight.
Did you know He waited
Patiently
For me to let Him in?
He never tried to force me
Or break down the mighty door.
He waited for me,
Patiently.
He softly whispered,
“Believe and I will set you free.”
I believed,
I praise His name!
He opened up my blinded eyes.
My hardened heart is healing.
I could never have known
The love and Freedom
He’s revealing!
And He’s waiting for you,
Quietly.
“Believe and I will set you free.”
